Introduction:

In the tranquil countryside, our small patch of land may be considered massive to some, but to us, it is our private haven. Over the past few days, we’ve been diligently working to finalize the last touches around the Caravans and put the finishing touches on the shell block. With a matter of days, before our first volunteer arrives, we’re racing against time to ensure everything is ready. Join us as we share the transformation of our little paradise into a charming sanctuary.

Creating Personal Spaces:

Previously, our living quarters were quite basic, with limited personal space. However, we decided to enhance the experience for our volunteers, providing them with their own little haven. To achieve this, we invested time and effort in carefully arranging the Caravan area, ensuring that each individual has their designated space. The new arrangement allows everyone to have their privacy while fostering a sense of community.

Rediscovering History:

During our excavation for electrical cables, we stumbled upon an exciting discovery – an ancient pathway concealed beneath the earth. These original cobbled paths, once used to traverse the land, were hidden from view until now. Uncovering these historical gems brought a new level of excitement to our project. We plan to incorporate these paths into the design, ensuring they blend seamlessly with the rest of the garden.

A Garden of Abundance:

One of our primary goals was to create a garden that provided not only a peaceful retreat but also a bountiful harvest. As we walked through the garden, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride at the sight of our flourishing crops. Lush tomato plants, vibrant peppers, and thriving cucumbers lined the pathways. In Jonathan’s veggie patch, a delightful assortment of lettuce, onions, strawberries, raspberries, and Pine berries coexisted harmoniously. The careful planning and tender care we’ve invested in our garden are evident in the fruitful rewards we now enjoy.

Restoring Architectural Remnants:

Our garden restoration has not only involved natural elements but also the resurrection of architectural remnants scattered across the property. Decorative stones, once parts of grand structures, were unearthed during our work. Some were meticulously carved, hinting at their former glory. These remnants paint a vivid picture of the history hidden within our garden’s soil. We plan to preserve and display these stones, paying homage to the rich heritage of the land.

The Beauty of Completion:

As the days passed, our vision began to take shape, and the garden came alive with beauty and charm. Gravel pathways now wind their way through the garden, leading to inviting corners perfect for relaxation. A variety of plants and flowers grace the landscape, offering a burst of colors and scents that enchant the senses. The garden now stands as a testament to our dedication and hard work, a sanctuary of serenity and rejuvenation.

The Next Steps:

Although we have achieved much, our journey is far from over. With the Caravan area complete, we are excited to focus on the 400 Suite, where our next volunteer awaits. The plasterboard work is nearing completion, and soon, the painting will grace the walls. Our quest for the perfect chandelier continues, as we seek to restore the Suite’s opulence and elegance.

Conclusion:

Our private garden has evolved from a humble space to a captivating sanctuary, where history meets modernity and nature blooms in abundance. The transformation has been a labor of love, and we are grateful for every moment spent breathing new life into this cherished corner of the world. As we embark on the next phase of our restoration journey, we eagerly anticipate the beauty and wonder that await us. Join us as we continue to build a legacy of preservation and appreciation for the treasures our garden holds.
